Kill Team 12 Model Limit Proposal
« on: January 21, 2014, 10:05:05 PM »
Hey all, after playing a couple of games (and getting nostalgic for the non-head-to-head days of 4th edition Kill Team with its Brute Squads, quirky missions and VERY flexible rules, etc.) my son quickly hit upon an idea that I'm sure you've all considered: 200 points buys a lot of cultists.... So my Striking Scorpion and Dire Avenger Kill Team died ignoble deaths at the hands of the scum of the universe. Looked just about like a Zombie attack, and was just about as fun. It is absurd (and, in my opinion, asinine) to suppose that a Kill Team of highly skilled specialists could be made up 30 or more members with pathetic WS and BS (and Leadership), and so on.

I propose, even though it is probably far too late for this particular Kill-Team venture, that Kill Teams be limited to no more than 12 models total (think, "The Dirty Dozen"). I believe adding this restriction will push list-building in a direction that more closely aligns with the spirit of Kill Team.

That's my 2 Cents.

My son brings three wraiths and five warriors.  200 points on the nose and there is NOTHING in the Space Marines arsenal that can stand up to a wraith with whip coils one to one.  He just eats three of my models a turn.  Nom Nom Nom!

I would Agree, also considering how in alot of the books a regular Space Marine can kill Cultists by 100s, half the time they don't even consider them a threat in the books they act like las and auto guns can't even hurt them. Even tho there isn't as many Eldar books, in the few I have read its pretty much the same for the Aspect Warriors. But when it comes to the game play it takes alot less, I've had units of 20 with autoguns rip some of my units apart. Recently I even had one of my squads of cultists blow my Friends new Hive Crone out of the sky with auto pistols, I did roll pretty well and it had a couple wounds but still, its a giant flying armoured bug and my guys where basically shooting 20th century weapons. It made me glad most of my flyers have a AV and not a toughness but anyways I agree, there should be a model limit.
"Our time will come again, Eldrad has promised us. Once more you upstart Mon-keigh[spits] shall kneel before our power! This time we will not be so lenient!"

I do not agree in limiting to 12 models, there are codex like Imperial guard that will be difficult to manage.
