karandras and illic both join a support battery and infiltrate to mid field.
they also grant the already tough 7 models shrouded.

I might add that although this seems like an unorthodox strategy. In play it is very effective at both drawing and weathering enemy fire. It also destroys any tough units,such as gargantuan creatures,super heavies,deathstar units,and also advanced scouts.

It's also illegal.  GW put out a FAQ a while back about ICs and Infiltrate.  Short form: they can only join other Infiltrators.

Yea sorry Daniel... Shark is right... you cant infiltrate a unit.

What can do is buy a warlock for both of the D cannon batteries, cast shrouding to get the 2+ cover save (on a 4+ ruins), deploy them in ruins and move then run forward to the centre of the board. If you deploy at your 12" line, then move forward, you will get there.

Quite a nice distraction carnifex if you can keep them alive. But while they are being shot at (2+ cover, 3+ armour T7), the rest of your army is shooting their way to victory.

Since you wont need Karandras or Illliac, youll have 350 points to allocate to a HQ and 2 warlocks.

Change this sentence to read:
‘An Independent Character without the Infiltrate special
rule cannot join a unit of Infiltrators during deployment,
and vice versa.’

Are you sure this doesn't just cover infiltrating units?
Because The independent character special rules clearly state they confer the special rule of infiltrate to the squad.
Look at Shrike as an example.

My Fallback is always Eldrad and warlocks.Eldrad will give d3 units scout and the warlocks can grant the +2 cover, Plus then I will also have some Psychic defense.

Yea. The original wording for Infiltrators does confer the Infiltration rules to the unit they join but now because of that, it basically says that you cannot infiltrate together with another unit/character who doesn't have infiltrate, but you can definitely join them subsequently or in the beginning of the game (if they don't infiltrate). So this strategy of putting them to crazy positions is just not going to work. The only way you're going to do that is with the Strategic Warlord trait where you give 3 units + warlord infiltrate. So yea.... your strategy cannot work in this list.

The abundance of hornets and scatbikes can be really scary. However, you may have problems with these few units/Armies:
1) Ravenwing (rerollable jinks and deathshroud)
2) Imperial Knights (they can stay far behind and shoot you dead, way out of reach of your D-Canons)
3) Drop pod armies

It definitely hit hard but the resiliency is not really there except for the Wraith Knight. McPhro's suggestion of putting warlocks can help but you just got to be careful of the scattering of D-Shots.

If you want to try something REALLY RUDE... take a dark eldar Archon with webway portals. 2 archons with 2 simple witch units.

He confers DDEP STRIKE with NO scatter... oh year.. ANY WHERE YOU LIKE!

So you could take 2 D cannon batteries and 2 archons. Take an Autarch so you get the 2+ reserve rules and Turn 2, Deep strike them in within 24" of their main line (with the warlock for 2+ cover save). Next turn, fire away... OR

or even better...

Deep strike 2 x wraithguard with D-sythe units. Each can "fan" their templates to cover a unit (watch placing template rules here)... bye bye 2+ enemy units where you dictate what dies... and they will!

That really sucks that the strategy was made unusable due to a recent FAQ.
I still have my original idea however.
That would be to use Eldrads warlord trait to grant hopefully both units scout, giving them a free 6'' move towards the enemy before the game begins.
That would mean only the back 6'' would be unreachable for my d-cannons.12''+24''+6''=42''
Taking him would also free up the points for 2 warlocks.
