The mandatory for the butcherhorde is a lord and 4 units of zerkers correct? Take 4 units of 8, give em two plasma pistols and maybe rhinos to transport. Maybe give your zerker champs chain axes. Having metal boxes at your disposal means you can deploy inside them and protect them from your opponent, or deploy them outside when you want to go ham and get into combat knowing you wont get squished. Then, take some mechanized fire support to soften up your targets so khorne can get his blood.

Few suggestions, just food for thought. Consider switching out your missiles on your devastators for heavy bolters. Gives you more shots from the unit, and a little bit more flexibility. Switch the bike on your chapter master for a jump pack. He'll retain the toughness 5 and 3+ feel no pain im guessing he'll have and retain most of the same speed bikes naturally have.

With these extra points take a drop pod so you can have both of your dreadnoughts come in when you need them.

Starting a weekly escalation league next week. Its starting at 750 and moving up 250 pts every week until it hits 2k.

Here's my 750 for my first game next week-

Chaplain 105 pts
Power armor, grenades, crozius, plasma pistol, rosarius

Crusader squad 205 pts
4 initiates, 1 with grav cannon, 1 with melta gun, 2 initiates with bolters
Sword brother
4 neophytes with shotguns
Rhino with dozer blade

Crusader squad 205 pts
Sword brother
4 initiates, 1 with grav cannon, 1 with melta gun
4 neophytes
Rhino with dozer blade

Assault squad 150 pts
5 assault marines, bare bones
Razorback w/ las plas, dozer blade

Predator tank 85 pts
Autocannon, stormbolter, dozer blade.

The list maximizes high strength shooting, and I think it does pretty well in a points value this small.

Ive been wanting to do Black Templars scout squad, giving the sergeant a grav pistol and putting them in a land speeder storm for a little while now. The interaction between blind and concussive sounds fun to me and I think it coukd potentially bog down a dangerous assault unit if the dice dont suck too hard.

My warlord is 95% of the time GorGak master of Da Green tide(Now days)

How ever, he broke a month ago and a few of his bitz have gone missing. :'(
Looks like this guy get's promoted to acting Warlord.

I'm not really a fan of this second picture. it's very washed out from the lighting.

Only time will tell if he can live up to the brutally disastrous legacy of GorGak.
I'm bad with naming my characters But I do know "the mighty" will some how end up in his name.

I'd like a try with the name if ya don't mind.

War boss Toh-Cuttah. First earned his name as a yoof when he won his first fight after dropping a  big Choppa on a boss nob's foot, cutting off his toes. Since then he's graduated to smashing ribs, splitting skulls, and successfully plowing a battle wagon strait through some humie armored transports.

Mechanically there isn't really much you can do to have alpha legion play like a very distinct army other than take a counts as Huron Blackheart to garuntee that infiltration warlord trait, make cultists your core choice, and convert and paint one or more of your units as another space Marine chapter or legion. Ex: you could paint up your havocs to look like Ultra Marines Devastators.

Vindicators and predators haven't been able to purchase power of the machine spirit for a little while now. Only things with power of the machine spirit have been land raiders and drop pods.

I'm not sure I would really change much of anything with the core dark Angels book as it is now. The faqs I think fixed some of the major problems like bikes making characters eligible to be leaders in the ravening strike force. I guess I'd fix the deathwing rule so they can come on first turn again. Maybe add some special rules that allow dark Angels rerolls to plasma weapons?

If monstrous creature heavy is what you're aiming for, and want to do something fun, consider taking Old One Eye, and several broods of carnifex with twin-linked devourers. The list will pretty much be bum rush Old One Eye and the rest of the fex up the table, and hope they don't flip out and just gore each other. I think you can mitigate loss of wounds with the regeneration biomorph as well as a psychic source that can cast the Nyd power that grants feel no pain.
