Discussion: Adeptus Mechanicus / Cult Mechanicus leak
« on: April 29, 2015, 05:29:14 PM »
Looks like a leaked pic of some of the new units and the cover of the rumored Cult Mechanicus codex. I really like all the new stuff except I need to see a better picture of the big robots as I'm not sure about that aesthetic.

General Discussion / GW posting free rules downloads for new models
« on: November 08, 2014, 01:20:01 PM »
With the release of the new models GW is now posting the rules for free on Black Library's site under the FAQ area.
There is only the Maleceptor and Toxicrene right now but this is a good sign for future releases. Its nice to know you'll be able to get these new models and not have to worry about getting the WD or special supplement just for the rules, and it will allow them to release more newer models and not have to worry about also releasing an accompanying supplement. Honestly IDK why they haven't done this sooner, but better late than never. and I hope it continues.

Discussion: Tyranids / More new nids Mucolid spore cluster and sporocyst
« on: November 03, 2014, 02:04:05 PM »
The mucolid are allowed to assault zooming flyers and swooping monstrous creatures and if the do they auto hit them with a s8 ap3 hit, they hit flyers side armour.

Since this is not a shooting attack and doesn't happen in the shooting phase, that means no jinking or cover saves, right? Thats the way it seems to me but I might be missing something.

General Discussion / Great GW Customer Service
« on: September 24, 2014, 05:00:11 PM »
Games Workshop does some things I don't agree with but they do some things really well an I just want to recognize them for it an pass it on.

I pre-orered Space Hulk from The War Store and received it on Monday, I was super excited as I missed out on getting it in 2009 as I hadn't gotten back into the hobby yet an wasn't going to pay 300$ on ebay for a new copy.  After tearing it open to look at the miniatures first hand I realized that all 3 of the Genestealer sprues were identical and I had no Broodlord and some of the other miniatures. I was worried since I ordered from a 3rd party and if they were sold out I couldn't return it to get one with the proper pieces so I would just keep it and do some converting to make the other models but I was kinda disappointed. Then I remembered hearing that GW had great customer service so I figured maybe I could send my extra one in and they would send me the proper one. Well as awesome as their Customer Service is they are going to send me out the proper sprue at no charge and I get to keep the other one, so now I have a ton of Genestealers and they were really cool about it even tho I didn't get it directly from them. I couldn't be more satisfied.

Sorry for the ramble I just feel with all the flack GW gets(sometimes deserved) when it does something wrong I should atleast give credit when its due and their customer service def deserves it.

So the newest Issue of White Dwarf has a Datasheet for a Knight Character, Gerantius the Forgotten Knight. I was wondering what others thought. Is he overcosted or maybe a little to strong? Also any Ideas on some good builds around him.

If you don't have the WD Issue its a Knight Errant named Gerantius the Forgotten Knight. Hes 130 more pts but is WS5, BS5, and along with the normal Knight special rules he has "It Will Not Die", and a couple more new special rules. One is called " The Forgotten Knight" which gives his Ion Shield a 3++ tho he cannot have a warlord trait and can't use the rules for Knightly Ranks. The other is called "Striker" which allows him to shoot the same turn he runs(tho can't charge that turn) and also must re-roll results of 1 on the Stomp table.

While another 130 pts is alot he becomes even more survivable and quicker without sacrificing shooting. I mean WS 5 helps but the the re-roll results of 1 on the stomp table means he will almost always do good damage with those attacks. All in all I think he's pretty strong and I would def run him when I use Knights.

40K Rules Questions / Eldrads Staff of Ulthamar
« on: May 26, 2014, 12:16:29 AM »
His staff would give a warp charge back after a successful psychic test and a d6 roll of 5+. Does that mean now in 7th that if he successfully casts a power, then on 5+ on another d6 roll you get a dice back into your pool? And if so could that warp charge point be theoretically used by another psyker? Or does that rule for the staff just not matter anymore?

General Discussion / New Allies Chart
« on: May 21, 2014, 10:21:59 AM »
New Allies Chart has been leaked. Looks like Tyranids can Ally to themselves, also all Imperial Armies are lumped together and are only Battlebrothers with each other, even Grey Knights, Dark Angels and Space Wolves. Eldar and Dark Eldar are still battle Brothers, but Tau have no battle brothers and are only allies of convenience with Eldar and Necrons(?), they are Desperate with all Imperial armies now. Chaos are only battle brothers with each other like before but since guard has been lumped in with all the other imperial armies they are now come the Apocalypse with Chaos so there is no more Traitor Guard with Chaos. There is rumors that Unbound will allow you to take from any codex so that might be the only way left to field them or its said you can still ally with armies that are come the Apocalypse but there is rumored to be severe penalties like you can't deploy within 12" if you do theres a LD and you move away or can't do anything.

For me the Traitor Guard thing is pretty disappointing as IMHO its one of the few in the last that actually made sense. But other than that I think its pretty good they fixed alot of the problems especially with Tau, Eldar and Marines. There might be some new combos with Grey Knights and other Imperial Armies but I don't think it will be anything major.

Anyway heres a pic of the table. With all imperial armies being lumped together its a little clearer but the colors and symbols of come the Apocalypse and Desperate allies being so similar its still not as clear as it could be.

-Edit- Sorry about the oversized pic, I'm not good with such things :(

General Discussion / Daemon Malefic Psychic Powers
« on: May 13, 2014, 09:37:29 AM »
So one of the new Daemon summoning Psychic power lists. Get ready to dust off or ready to purchase some daemon models. LOL, one is sacrifice any freindly model within 6" for your choice of herald or the primaris is summoning your choice of 10 horrors, plaugue bearers, daemonettes, 5 fleshhounds, 3 flamers, 3 nurgling bases or 5 seekers of slaanesh. These powers will literally allow you to summon a army of daemons during a game, its going to make games pretty crazy.

Discussion: Astra Militarum / Armored Sentinals going to 40pts base
« on: April 04, 2014, 03:26:53 PM »
According to the Pre-view of the digital version of the new Astra Militarum codex it seems Armored Sentinals are dropping 15pts. You can actually get one with a plasma or las cannon for only 10 pts more or autocannon or missile launcher for 5 pts more.

They still take up a FA slot so I don't know if it will make them viable but with rumors of the Vendetta going up to 170pts and its transport capacity going to 6 it might be a way to get some cheap plasma or auto cannons into a army. It also says the can take anything from the vehicle equipment list but don't know what will be in that yet.

Discussion: Terrain / Whats a good type/brand of filler/spackle?
« on: March 09, 2014, 04:22:43 PM »
I really want to get into building my own terrain and have stock piled all sorts of interesting trash items but I need a good filler but have a limited budget so can't afford to buy a few different kinds to try out. I'm in the US but hear alot about something called polyfill or polycell from tutorials in the UK but every time I try looking for it I get the little plastic beads that are in pillows and such. So I was wondering what a good US equivalent would be, preferably the brands name as at least its a starting point?

In the US we have spackle and I'm wondering if thats the same thing or if polyfill is something slightly different, tho if it is the same there is a ton of different drywall spackles what kind is good all around filler for terrain? I mean there is so many kinds out there, you have concrete filler/patch, spackles, wood fillers and putties, floor and plywood filler, latex patch, etc, I just want to find a good all around one to start out.

Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated cause I need to do something constructive with my so called "hoarded trash collection" before it causes problems as supposedly I already collect enough "crap"  ;)
