The Stompa is a seriously awesome model, if we are talking dream model then that's my choice. I recently bought one and in the process of assembling it now. I read a post on a different forum about a guy who jokingly mentioned he wanted to add small speakers inside his. Well ... I have become obsessed with the idea and want to blast 80's music out of my Stompa. If I had room I would cram a smoke machine in there too. I don't care that's it's half my points in an 1850 game, I want to unleash my beats by Stompa on the world!!!

Honestly, I would get Deffkoptas.
They are my favorite Ork unit from how much dakka and deff they fire with the T-L big shootas, and how resiliant they are with 2 wounds each. My only problem is that they don't sell the  old plastic ones. Right now you have to buy the metal ones, which not only look worse (in my opinion) but also cost 20 per kopta! Really the only option left is to buy the old ones from ebay, but most have either been built wrong, are broken, or look like they have been painted by a 2 year old.

I just wish that they would bring back the old koptas because they are absolutely awesome!

Yea id agree with that. The new assault rule means charging unit strike first. Eldar take a hit there because we either charge first and go first anyway due to our higher INT, or now they charge us first... and they hit first as we have no INT.

Id have to say, Id like to see Eldar nerfed a bit. Even guardians type units back to BS/WS 3 (makes guide have a purpose and they ARE citizens not aspect warriors). Id then argue for cheaper guardians as a result.

This means any guardian type transport would go back in points. And TBH, I think id love to see the conditions, where we DO TAKE ALL OF OUR ASPECTS AGAIN!. Sorry to put that in bold, but we are eldar, not 6 x warp spiders eldar armies.

Apparently, Tau are out for sale across the galaxy because they can be bought for any army...

It is the Same with Warp spiders. There are more warp spider shrines than any other aspect because that's all that makes it into army lists almost, especially competitive lists.

I used to win lots of games in 2nd Ed, and that is because I knew how to play my army. Not because we were overpowered.

So TBH, hit us with the nerf bat. And do it to everyone else too. Wouldnt it be nice to see a huge variety of armies at LVO winning. Maybe even Orks for a change.

But make our stuff cheaper and give them cool rules that make us want to take them. Banshees were always good. Its just how do you deliver them? Now we can with Dark Eldar transports. So things are certainly improving.

I can't wait to see how things are with 8th, and if you don't like it, give GW feedback. They are now listening

This seems complicated...  Complicated with flyers could be fun, but it does seem like a lot of core rules for them.  I always felt Flyers were too simplified in 7th, unable to actually dogfight and position right, and Death from the Skies was just a waste of time, so from what I can infer, this looks better.  I wonder what the Power is going to mean for these maneuvers.  I'm assuming distance, but I want to know how much, and if it'll be closer to a Crew Shaken downside or a damage if you fail the roll.

That's a good question.
Maybe I'd use a Nobs mob more. I think I've used them less than 10 times over the course of the 5 editions I've played Orks. They just cost too many points for my tastes.
Right now I'm excited to see how Gorkanauts have changed. I have several, I hope their points have come down.

Discussion: Orks / Ork Dream Unit

I've recently began collecting Orks and I'm loving the models. I appreciate the help I've received thus far from this forum, Quark at Mini Wargaming and Striking Scorpions 82 on YouTube as they've helped me "play test" models before I buy them and figure out what will work, and what will not.

From a purely fantasy prospective, I'm curious what is the single Ork unit you would purchase and field if cost weren't an issue (both points and monetary). With Games Workshop saying they are going to come out with rules for every model they have from both Forgeworld and the normal site, I see this as a prime time to nab one of those little used models because no one wants to buy the Imperial Armour books or some other obscure rule set.

I look forward to your comments!

What gets me even more excited is the prospect that it might be the new space marine models. I'm digging the size and the look of them.

I agree, some armies will either need something to replace their high initiative or be reduced in points but also playability.  Eldar can be made fast to ensure the charge but what about Blood Angels.
