Lol nice model. I hate shooty templars the idea makes me sick but I understand why ppl do it. Its efficient and effective to a degree. Imo templars are built for the assault and maximizing that fact is key. Everybody is diff tho and I am glad our codex can be built optimally either way range or close despite the lore aspect. That is something I hope they keep in the new codex.

Very cool, love templars and love the helmet swap.

Ironic that they have become a shooty army based on how the codex has aged over the years.
Though my men may sleep, and my ships rest at anchor, my foes know full well that big guns never tire...

Look on my works ye mighty, and despair...

I agree. Shooty templars are still pretty awesome. Its a shame that they made righteus zeal less controlable now tho.

Before zeal could be controlled as a consolidation move was "up to" D6 inches. In the most recent FAQ they "clarified" this and stated that the BT -have- to move the full distance when they zeal. So a saavy opponent can drag the army arround by the nose. The only way to mitigate this is going to ground, this prevents the RZ movement if the test is passed.

I see. never had a problem with zeal like that before... kinda hard to do that id think. I always gun for the opponent neways tho so moving toward them again is advantageous. Unless ur playing shooty that is.. lol

Yes, you will be gunning towards them. It just becomes a drawback against smarter opponents that will place empty rhinos, or faster units like landspeeders off to the sides/back of your army, and force them to split up. This can be mitigated with the use of chaplains... but then you end up spending a lot on characters (also considering that you cant make the EC your warlord).

Why dont u jus use rhinos lazorbacks or my personal fav the LRC? I dont think this is something ill ever hav a problem with but I suppose I can see the situational potential for enemy uses of it. Not exactly an issue for me tho.

If you can use vehicles from FW then rhinos and razorz make sense. As they are cheaper points wise.

Personally I love shooty terminators for BT. we can have 2 cyclones or 2 assault cannons for every 5 guys and give them tank hunter. ally with Imperial Fists and take Lysander. Deep strike on something, bolter drill it for dead. Use Lysander to keep your shooty terminators alive with his 2+/3+ and eternal warrior. Gooooood times.
Don't try making a unit unkillable. its a waste of time and the dice gods laugh at you for wasting your time. Dedicate a unit to a job and make sure it does it til it's either dead or running.

Na templar chars are superior to lysand. We can sport a chaplain wit eternal a chain fist but has four atks base (in tda) wit a storm shield and reroll to hit on the charge wit rage as well.. ol lysander cant match that charge my friend.

Lysander lets what ever squad he's attached to reroll missed bolter shots, has more wounds than any character you can build out of the BT dex and gives you access to codex marines that are stubborn, can bolster a piece of terrain and his hammer is resolved at Str 10. You don't need to get the charge when you can shoot the piss out of them and then cave their face in when they make the charge.
