Yes, you will be gunning towards them. It just becomes a drawback against smarter opponents that will place empty rhinos, or faster units like landspeeders off to the sides/back of your army, and force them to split up. This can be mitigated with the use of chaplains... but then you end up spending a lot on characters (also considering that you cant make the EC your warlord).

But the rule says you consolidate toward the, "nearest visible enemy unit".  So if you're advancing on an enemy unit and he shoots you from a far corner, you're still going to zeal towards the guys you're closest to.  In my experience, so long as you get out of your transport close to the unit you want to assault, zeal goes a long way toward getting you into range.  Especially if you have terrain to get through.

I have gotten pulled off of objectives repeatedly.  I just move/run right back to them in my turn - unless I have first turn and it's the last turn of the game.  Then I could always go to ground I suppose.

Agreed. Its not as big a problem for me as some ppl say it is for them..
