I'm working on a special 1750 list for Friday. My friend is coming down for a game. He is training for a tournament. The list is special because it requires 1,HQ,Troop,Fast,Elite and heavy choice as mandatory.
After those are taken Any further choices come from the remainder of a Standard FOC.
I am going to try burna boys. with 3 meks in each with rockets. I am thinking about 2 such mobs.
I'm stuck on my next Elite choice. Either I try out the 5 Biker Nobs..Or a third Burna mob like the others.
If I don't use the Nobs I am thinking I will use a huge biker mob. with a nob and a Big Mek with KFF.
After that I am torn between a biker warboss or a Biker pain boy. the pain boy being a high priority. I am not planning to rely on the Power of the WAAAGH.
I will be left with either one truk full of ard boys with a mek attached. and several shoota mobs or slugga mobs. My lack of truks is really hurting me here.
I am tempted to use standard nobs to squeeze in a battle wagon. freeing the third truk for more ard boys.
Lastly I plan to use Kannons a deffdred and 5 Killa Kans. And I may have left out the blitz bombers. Two of them. this should give me a fast and killy forward assault backed up by several mobs to use as trail units to try to score and protect my vehicles flanks and rears. I will need to kill off his pathfinders first then shoot out units to force a gap in his supportive overwatch. leading to successful assaults.
This is a challanging format so far. I really want 2 warpheand and 2 SAG Meks as well..  Lastly I can take fortifications and plan to try the Vengeance weapons batteries. with battle cannons.
Still looking over my options. I'm starting to want a lot more truks.

Notes.

When I start a list Points are not a governing factor.I come up with a list of units I want to use.
I plan out how I want to use them and come up with the unit composition. Pile all of those units into a list ,add the points and cry,on the inside, as I trim the fat and drop excess units to reduce my points to the proper points size.

The list I came up with is a lot closer to a 2000 point list and now I know what I want to use. I will rebuilt the list with the requirements first and then add what ever I find lacking.

Further notes.
My opponent is worried I will play a foot hoard. He is very fixated on that style of list. He is also trying to get me to play that kind of list. I am thinking of leading him to think that is the kind of list I will be using and then not use the list he is expecting. ( it's for his own good after all. He's training for a tournament..lol)

The very last rout, as this will be my only game for several weeks. is to give him the list he is expecting to see how he does against it. He has started to change his list, using more vehicles then before. I think he has seen that he needs them in his lists. Most of my group feel that a large Foot hoard is much harder to fight at lower points levels, like 1500. I think 1750 is roughly the same as 1500. And given the lack of flexibility in our format I may build a 1500 point list then just take 250 points of goodies.
I am suddenly finding the lack of extra detachment slots..unnerving..

What do you mean by lack of additional detachment slots?

We are using one detachment. 1HQ,2Troop,1Elite,1Fast Attack and 1 Heavy Support are compulsory.
Any rmaing points can be used to fill the rest of one slots. 1HQ,5Troop,2 Elite,2Fast Attackand 2 Heavy Support. 1 Fortification allowed.
No Allies.
And no further detachments.

That's really restrictive to armies like Orks and Nids.

Ya. It is a large step backwards. But it's for a club tournament. I missed my chance to sign up for it and I think I would have had to take IG to feel. good about the format.
It's not meant to be a competitive tournament. More like an introduction to 7th for the tournament Organizer. As well as a big get together. we have this kind of event every year. I seem to have missed all but the very first one. I had hoped to attend this year but won't be able to. I think we turn 11 this year.

It's all in good fun though. Sadly it sounds like my opponent won't be able to make it for a game this week. I can't blame him, work comes first and he would have to drive two hours to get here.
I got a picture of most of my painted Hoard today.

I have been painting my back log and repainting some of these models that needed it. I started last year and have been going strong for nearly a whole year now.

After some discussion over at Da WAAAGH forum. I think I will be flushing out my mobs with two more Ard' Boys mobs 20 in each. I think 60 ard boys will be more then enough for a while. I might have mentioned waiting on 2 more truks, which is why I picked 60 as my number for Ard' Boys. Though I expect another 12 may come about at a later date. I'm still thinking bout different small elite Ork lists but have put that aside for a little while. I just received all the Orks stuff from 2 stromclaw sets!( from a trade)
this will give me 100 Grot slaves.

I use to be a huge Big Shoota fan. My Kans first choice for Dakka. Later we got Grotzooks, which are amazing. But now I am thinking that at least 5 of my Kanz should run around with rockets.
What do you lot like on you Kanz. ( I finally hit 15 kans and Might try a new nasty Kan wall. Kans Mobs 2 Naughts and a Deff Dred.)

Good News!
I was able to play a game on Thursday 3 Oct. My friend wanted to try a list he has been planning on using at a tournament on the 4th of October, today as it turns out.

I was able to do a battle report. I have a first report and am still working on the written version, which will be just a little more in depth.

But here's the video.
Please enjoy.

Last weekend I played my first game for 2015. Had a blast despite loosing.
Here's the battle report if you feel like reading it.

We posted this in our FB group so I just smushed it all together with the relevant comments to the pictures.

My group is planning an Apocalypse game in June. I think we are up to 6 or more players each of us planing to bring 10K or more. Most seem to want to bring 15K. So I have started to figure out what I want to take..which is about everything.. I am now looking for a few more Stompas. Ebay seems to have some at a good price. But I'm still waiting to decide. Do you thing 5 stompas is too many? I have 3 already and am really thinking about two more. I may be able to get one from my friend that traded me his ork army. We were talking about that a few weeks ago. One of the reasons for more stompas is that they are so many points. being just under 1000 points will let me hit higher points totals with not needing to bring hundreds more models.
Lastly, this little bit is amusing, our Space Wolves player wants to set up against my Orks in that game. I know he has loads of thunder wolves.  Do you thing I should be worried about hurting his feelings by bringing that many stompas? I have no plan for him to ever get to assault them. I plan to screen them off.
Our Space wolves player is a tad ...sensitive.
My thoughts though, "Mess with the bull get the Horns."

Hur Hur Hur.. Ya, I meant after all hos TWC was nuked. I'm sure he will have some survive but I'm planning some war crimes.
He's got a lot of faith in those TWC.
Question: How does a Big mek with KFF in a Mek stompa work? That is will the KFF "protect" the power fields? The Mek Stompa get D6 power fields generated at the start of the game. I can't find anything yet that it wouldn't work. they are effectively D6 ablative HP's from ranged attack. Although with an AV of 12. I'd like to protect my points investment as long as I can.
