Dark Eldar WIP
« on: October 22, 2014, 08:13:18 PM »
Finally getting around to painting up some models. Only a few so far but I'd love to by some feedback! Working off the idea that we attack at night, wanted to blend in without using black or blue.

The freehand is good but you need contrast with dark eldar the best way to do this is edge highlighting it really breaks up the models and make them stand out since you are doing a purple theme i recommend bright red yellow or green as that will add high contrast be careful though because if you pick the wrong colors you can easily make your model look gaudy like a color blind parade float designer slapped paint on your models. But looks good keep up the good work

Amazing job on the sails. They came out so well!

Like what has been said before, add some edge highlighting. This will make it pop all the more. Perhaps Genestealer Purple?

Had some time tonight to finish a scourge before bed. Let me know what you think.

I like what you are doing with the juice packs and green ooze.  I would dry brush or edge some more highlights on the purple and red, then hit it with ink or a wash to make it pop.

For the boltgun (maybe mithril silver) armour, I would use some nuln oil washes, the new nuln oil is so much better than the old inks on metalics, it's like a dream.  2-3 washes, and maybe some bright silver highlights before the last wash.

Great colours for sure.  Such great minis those scourges.
