Grey by any other shade...
« on: February 25, 2015, 10:36:01 PM »
So i'm thinking of painting up my GK in a different colour scheme (looking at Night Lords really).

Does anyone have any pictures of differently coloured Grey Knights?
Any tips or thoughts on the matter? Would be very much obliged.

Mine are red with gold trim.  Like any marine army, if you can find a quick base+wash+highlight scheme you can do them quick.

My grey Knights are silver with a fair amount f blue glaze over them, I'll take some pictures when I get home. I've seen them in gold, actual blue, space wolves kind of grey.. White.. The list goes on.

Mine aren't a huge departure from the norm, but I accent them with bronze, I think in makes them stand out from the traditional grey knight while remaining true to their heritage.

First image is purifiers, with the ivory pauldrons, second is my Librarian, third are strike squads with the silver pauldrons, and the final image is Archimedes, my unfinished land raider.

Grey Knight Terminator WIP

Missing Hand is Magnatized so dont worry, he still has all his Hands!

I Wantet to get the look of the Grey Knight on the Codex Cover, wich is much darker than the usual Silver, but still make it look like a standard Grey Knight with my own flavour.
Colours: Vallejo Blackmetal Basecolor, Gloss Varnish, Vallejo Air Silver Hilighting

That's my first try to paint mine. Most of the force weapons have been repainted and replaced by falcions (photo included before the highlights for the swords).

Red, yellow, blue, gold and silver are the basic colors of inquisition I guess and all pop up very well on grey knights (except of the yellow for primary color :P )

If I would have to make a change, I might have painted the gold inscriptions purple, or I would have gone with the red as primary color like pimped inquisition style.

PS: plz ignore the dreadnought ^_^
