Grey knight dreadnought
« on: October 30, 2015, 01:36:08 PM »
So I have recently purchased a venerable dread. Before I build the model I want to know a good build.
I know the rifleman dread is good for gk cuz of the range twin linked. The box doesn't come with any auto cannons.
Which is another peav from Gw when they give options for models in the codex but don't give the bits on the blister and not intrested in paying 10000$ on shipping from the uk for the forge world bits

I'm thinking
Assault cannons with powerfist and heavy flamers

If anyone has good exp with dreads lemme know what's up

I've played against a friend's Dark Angels Venerable Dread with that exact loadout many times. It is a very viable way to put your dread together!

Missile/las. helps make up for the grey knight's lack of high strength weaponry. Or you could be a beast and just magnetize everything.
Don't try making a unit unkillable. its a waste of time and the dice gods laugh at you for wasting your time. Dedicate a unit to a job and make sure it does it til it's either dead or running.

They can also throw up sanctuary. They work out well in 1500 point games or smaller

Biggest reason I recommend against a close combat dred right now, is to wait until GK dreadnoughts are amended to be like dark angels and codex marines dreadnoughts. (Taken in squads, 4 attacks base)
