Conclave of the burning one
« on: December 19, 2016, 09:02:05 PM »
Does anybody have any information on how this formation is used with the current dex?Or if you have used it,was it good, fun, devastating, useless?
Any tactics or tips would be useful.
I am planning to run it in a friendly tournament.

I used it a lot of times, before the Draft FAQ came out limiting it to only the Transcendent C'tan.

Nightbringer
Cryptek with Veil of Darkness and Phase Shifter
Cryptek with God Shackle or Solar Staff and Phase Shifter

Gives the Nightbringer the needed mobility to get in range to abuse his 12" power. God Shackle or Solar staff gives you the protection against shooting that you need. God Shackle gives the whole unit T8, instead of T7, which prevents all ST4 or lower guns (few exceptions, like Necron Gauss) from getting a To Wound Roll. Solar Staff gives you a turn of minor invisibility, preventing blasts and templates, this choice is dependent on the possible opponents.

The 4++ all around and 4+++ Reanimation on the Crypteks, even against ID, let you spread the wounds out a little if they get in. Remember to "Look out sir!" on 2s for the Crypteks when a ST10 wound would ID them, putting it on the C'tan.

If they are using the Draft FAQ, don't bother with it. The Transcendent C'tan is not worth using like this.

Just build a basic Decruion and go with either Flayed Ones and/or Deathmarks (if around 750) or Canoptek Harvest (1000+)

If closer to 1500, Destroyer Cult is great, and at 1850, Canoptek harvest and Desroyer Cult is a good combo.

But of course feel free to try out a CAD with Sword and Shield Lychguard in a group with an Overlord equipped with a Veil of Darkness, phase shifter and Warscythe and add in Orikan the Diviner for the re-rollable 1s on the invulnerable save.

Since they changed it from the Draft FAQ to the official FAQ, Ghost arks are great loaded up with warriors, Jinking does not force occupants to snap fire (which is how it was before the Draft FAQ).
