I would recommend getting the new codex that is released on the 11th of November 2017 as it contains the new rules and also rules for the different hive fleets as well as relics and stratagems, all which could influence what you would want to add to your army.

You seem to have a pretty good selection of units to choose from which would let you go in any direction that you choose.

The Tyrannofex is looking pretty awesome now though and I really want to get one.

It looks like points have been shuffled, at the very least for weapons.

For example a space marine is 13 points, which is one point less than current, however a grav pistol for a space marine sergeant is 7 points and a multi melta is 27 points.

There are still a lot of unknowns for the new edition and I agree that it is too early to call which will be king. There seems to be pros and cons to both at this point.

Thanks for being the first to post in the Shadow War: Armageddon section :)

I am afraid that both your lists are currently illegal though, no more than half of your kill team may be 'new recruits' in this case the 'yoofs'

I am not super keen on the first list myself, I have been looking at a nob with a pair of choppas for the extra attacks and +1 strength, since Orks can't parry (except for the flash git) getting more attacks and hoping to get multiple good roles seems to be a good way to get around some of the combat skill of other armies.

Spanners with big shootas are great, the big shoota is a really good weapon in Shadow War, the fact that it is a special weapon and so can be moved and shot with 2 sustained fire dice is awesome!

I personally prefer yoofs with shootas as they shoot just as well as a regular boy, but are much cheaper, with the boyz taking melee options due to the higher weapon skill.

I think the shooting list would hold up pretty well to both Astra Militarum and Space Marines, using the yoofs and big shoota to pin opponents and then finish them off in melee seems like a good tactic.

3+ save for a Morkanaut is surprisingly low, it will be interesting to see what modifiers various weapons have.

Hopefully the T8 and 18Wounds will help out a bit, the idea of melta shots only having a 50/50 change to damage it at all is quite nice, assuming that it is still strength 8 of course. Either way hopefully stuff like the Mork(or possibly Gork)anaught will be much better than they are now :)

THE RAID, PAGE 95, ENDING THE GAME:

Change the last sentence to read:
If the Entrance is dest If the Entrance is destroyed and the attacker’s kill team didn’t bottle out, or the defender’s kill team bottled out, or all of the
defender’s fighters are down or taken out of action, then the attacker wins, otherwise the defender wins.

GENESTEALER CULT HYBRID KILL TEAMS:

Change lasgun to 25 points. (From 35 points)

Change the Hybrid Metamorph’s wargear and options as follows:
Wargear: A Hybrid Metamorph has an autopistol, rending claws, a Metamorph talon, blasting charges and a mining
suit. He may also do any of the following:
Take two additional rending claws, two Metamorph talons or a rending claw and a Metamorph whip.

For me it is Meganobs, I play in a group where melta and plasma is very common, that combined with their price in both points and money means I have never used them. I think they are a seriously cool unit though and hope they get better in 8th when it drops.

Only yesterday I played a 500 point 40k game against my friend.

He ran a very basic reclamation legion so things will be a little different.

The things I learned:

Power klaws make reanimation a pretty bad 6+ and were very useful.

My warboss in mega armour definitely needed a trukk as he got stuck on foot and couldnt catch up.

Eavy armour was very handy.



For a list I would think something like this would work well.

Warboss: Mega armour, bosspole, Lucky stikk 130

Boyz: 10 boyz, nob, power klaw, bosspole, eavy armour 140
trukk: rokkit 30

Gretchin with runtherd 35

7 warbikers: nob, power klaw, bosspole 166

Total: 501 (assuming your friend is cool with the extra point)

This is probably what I would take, although not super experianced at 500 points.

They are still available on the U.K store.

From experience 'Temporarily out of stock' just means they are currently out of stock till they cast more kits. 'no longer available' is used for when a kit is changing or being discontinued and is, well, no longer available.

Would be nice to see the whirlwind combined with the stalker/hunter kit at some point as I think it would look awesome, however I do not see this happening any time soon.
