I would recommend getting the new codex that is released on the 11th of November 2017 as it contains the new rules and also rules for the different hive fleets as well as relics and stratagems, all which could influence what you would want to add to your army.

You seem to have a pretty good selection of units to choose from which would let you go in any direction that you choose.

The Tyrannofex is looking pretty awesome now though and I really want to get one.

It looks like points have been shuffled, at the very least for weapons.

For example a space marine is 13 points, which is one point less than current, however a grav pistol for a space marine sergeant is 7 points and a multi melta is 27 points.

There are still a lot of unknowns for the new edition and I agree that it is too early to call which will be king. There seems to be pros and cons to both at this point.

3+ save for a Morkanaut is surprisingly low, it will be interesting to see what modifiers various weapons have.

Hopefully the T8 and 18Wounds will help out a bit, the idea of melta shots only having a 50/50 change to damage it at all is quite nice, assuming that it is still strength 8 of course. Either way hopefully stuff like the Mork(or possibly Gork)anaught will be much better than they are now :)

I love those barrels!

Using the soda bottle tops was a great idea, I will be borrowing your idea for sure :).

Thanks for posting your awesome work.

For me it is Meganobs, I play in a group where melta and plasma is very common, that combined with their price in both points and money means I have never used them. I think they are a seriously cool unit though and hope they get better in 8th when it drops.

Discussion: Orks / Re: 500 points Orks vs Necrons
« on: March 08, 2017, 07:03:53 PM »
Only yesterday I played a 500 point 40k game against my friend.

He ran a very basic reclamation legion so things will be a little different.

The things I learned:

Power klaws make reanimation a pretty bad 6+ and were very useful.

My warboss in mega armour definitely needed a trukk as he got stuck on foot and couldnt catch up.

Eavy armour was very handy.

For a list I would think something like this would work well.

Warboss: Mega armour, bosspole, Lucky stikk 130

Boyz: 10 boyz, nob, power klaw, bosspole, eavy armour 140
trukk: rokkit 30

Gretchin with runtherd 35

7 warbikers: nob, power klaw, bosspole 166

Total: 501 (assuming your friend is cool with the extra point)

This is probably what I would take, although not super experianced at 500 points.

Hope this helps :)

They are still available on the U.K store.

From experience 'Temporarily out of stock' just means they are currently out of stock till they cast more kits. 'no longer available' is used for when a kit is changing or being discontinued and is, well, no longer available.

Would be nice to see the whirlwind combined with the stalker/hunter kit at some point as I think it would look awesome, however I do not see this happening any time soon.

For orks the only real str 10 we have are as follows

Warboss with Power Klaw (including special characters)
Deff dreads
Gorka/Morka naut
Stompa (str D)/ Str 10 shooting

There is also some random/very unlikely str 10 avaliable, such as zapp guns and some psychic powers.

Discussion: Space Marines / Re: New to Salamanders and looking for advice
« on: September 18, 2016, 09:37:39 PM »
I look forward to the future update :D

Now onto the questions:

1) This one is a lot more preference than anything else and depends on what you are lacking in your list.

Assault marines: They are pretty cheap and would add a good assault element to your army if you need one, they are also pretty good bodyguards, but they will die just like any normal marine.

Attack bikes: They are T5 and have 2 wounds and are a pretty cheap way to get some more anti tank/monster into the army.

Bike squad: Similar to assault marines but T5 and with more options, these would be my personal choice as bikes are awesome, they have good customization and you can take a character on a bike with them and they will hold up ok in combat if you need them to, and they are mobile.

Land speeders: If you like them then take them, but either bikes or assault marines will probably do a better job, the exception to this would be heavy flamers, but these will most likely die easier than the bikes, but they are an awesome model/unit and not a bad choice, just not the best either.

2) The stormlance battle company is just awesome, hopping out of transports and then jumping back in is just great and the re rolls to shooting at enemies near an objective marker is just gravy, take the stormlance if you want the best option, but i would recommend trying to mix it up occasionally.

Sorry if this wasn't as useful as other posts, it is getting pretty late here :D
