Excellent to have another SW & BA player!

VERY happy to see this model back in play. Games Workshop has done a great job bringing back many of these models. Iím glad I can use it as a Ďsinger and not as a count as farseer. Iím curious about the healing, which will be interesting in a fun list- I canít see the Bonesinger in a stripped down comp list. Will be a nice character to work with my six wraithlords.

Funny how most of the units across all the armies got a boost in the new 8th edition stat changes, but I feel like as a Saim-Hann player jetbikes and vypers were targeted and got made worse armor saves, loss of jink, etc. simply as a knee-jerk reaction because in the last codex they were so over powered and beardy.

They went from so-so in 4th-6th edition, to pumped in 7th, and now worse vs. any incarnation of the game.

I'm hoping that some love comes to the Saim-hann with some HQ choices or unit specific powers that can give us some new tactical twists.

I don' expect the model stats to change.

Bonesinger stats so I can run him proper vs. playing the model as a generic farseer.

Agreed on getting Abby in the list.

Thoughts on the Spawn vs. Heldrake?

I think a Heldrake would work better then the spawn, but where to find the points?

Cultists #'s we don't want to touch- if you are all in you are all in.

An impressive looking mass of models on the table.

I enjoy your models posts and battle reports-every time I see them, I'm like THAT is how 40K is played- nice paint models, great terrain, and a narrative battle.

Thanks for posting!

No word from YouTube, and I suspect there won't be. Just a generic email- account closed, no way to appeal, no way to even reply.

Just wanted to quickly update you guys about my re-launch.

I'm going to continue with my podcasts and get back in the game by streaming them/allowing downloads at my blog HERE: http://www.wargamerfritz.com

I'm using the implosing of my YouTube channel to remaster a ton of stuff, finally build an archive and search of my stuff directly, and let my viewers contact and post directly. Back end stuff is up and running, I'm going to start recording my podcasts this weekend, and the first new post- 40K of course is going to be on Monday 9/18.

Thanks for all of your support, it was KEY in getting me motivated to re-launch and look at this as a chance to not only start new, but do all the great suggestions that you guys have all had over the years.

If you have a blog/youTube channel or know some friends that used to listen to me on YouTube, I'd appreciate it if you would let them know about my new home, and the 'casts moving forward since I can't post on YouTube and have lost all my YT subscribers to contact.

I would agree with the rules and the Dark Imperium starter set for the Space Marines. If you are coming back after a long break from Space Marines, not only has so much in the game changed (for the better), but it is very clear that GW is going to push primaris as the new SM flavor. Current marine players have to figure out how to combine or update their armies, new players and those coming back to the game are free to jump right in and in my opinion go all primaris.

40K Rules Questions / Re: 8th ed questions

An interesting tactical consideration.

I see first hand this rule messing up games, and I think it is going to be one of those things in 8th that we need to keep in mind.

Makes sense no shooting but you can charge.

I've seen two live games so far where the opponent thought they couldn't be charged b/c it blocked LOS.

Sweet!

Can I say that about an ork army?

A proper waghh is probably better.

I know we can paint our armies any way, and that is the cool thing about 40K, but I feel like some armies- orks and eldar look better with lots of red.

Love the cans.

Not that I would want to see a return to herohammer, and some would say we are already back, but I would love to see GW put out primarch and primarch-chaos-daemon prince models. Would be amazing to have the choice to play these guys on the table.

Of course the challenge is what do they represent in the game.

Back in the older Necron codex, when the REAL rulers of the Necrons were the C'Tan you could play the two of them on the table. The problem was with resolving the in-game effects with the narrative. Here was a model that defeated the Old Ones and smashed their web way tech, that you could play on the table, but could be killed by almost any unit. GW could not resolve the narrative power vs. the game power. With that regard while I was never happy with the Necron codex rewrite, making the C'Tan "shards" and only a shell of their power was a good move.

If we play a tabletop game where in the books a dozen space marines can subdue a world vs. in game my chaos cultists with pop pistols can take them out, how are you going to balance primarchs on the table?

That said, I want them.

Luthor the prophet is correct, the Lion is healing and will soon return!

I think you are right with the Chaos Legions from the older  'dex. For a long time- 10+ years or more CSM players have wanted specific legion books and models to that faction. BA, SW, DA, and marines all have unique content, why not Chaos?

GW perhaps missed out on printing money since the fan base is there for the content.

I hope they continue the trend and do release the other major traitor legions with books and models.

General Discussion / Re: Update on Youtube?

Beyond everything and anything that has happened with my YouTube channel the support so many of you have shared with me has turned a crazy experience into an amazing experience.

For years I shared my ideas, battle reports, and 40K experiments, and with the nature of YouTube being somewhat one way I never really knew how many people I reached or how many of you in a small way I was part of your daily or weekly gaming routine. The 40K community despite all of our crankiness is an amazing place.

Thank you for the kindness and support!

YouTube...

My account is closed for violating TOS- what I knew before it still the same. It is closed, nobody to talk with or appeal, and I'm not getting it back. I'm actually banned from creating a YouTube account. It and my G+ account are gone. I don't know why or what I did, and in a strange way this is probably for the best. There is nothing to focus my upset on or get angry about.

So what are my next steps?

I have most of my vids saved- about 90% of what I posted. At this point even if I could start a new channel, the loss of all my subscribers, links from other sites to my videos, and my YouTube search rankings and weight are all gone- 10 years of cultivating that. I'm not adverse to starting from scratch, but over the weekend I have really been asking myself if I AM going to start over from day one, is my effort best poured back into YouTube or a similar medium?

There were many ideas that I had while running my channel that I could not do either because my time was spent populating my channel, or just the day to day running it.

Some of my ideas?

I've thought about going back to blogging- maybe even Way of Saim-Hann or a 40K only tactics blog- a magazine format, where I post once a week, but it reads like a VERY detailed magazine article with diagrams, pictures, and tactica points.

Also have had thoughts about going into pod casting- I have the time to do it now...

Not related to 40K, but there are things I have wanted to do with D&D and Battletech that now I can build from the ground up.

I'm thinking about this as if one has had their prize 40K army stolen- you are going to be REAL pissed, perhaps for a long time, but do you quit 40K? You pick a new army, make it better vs. the old one and get back in the game!
