Maybe go super heavy on rhinos and just throw enough meltas across the table as fast as possible. Maybe dropping retributers and imagifers, as well as even saint Celestine for a Cannoness for the rerolls.

You can put two battle sister squads  in one rhino with 3 melta guns each for 6 per rhino.

 Seraphim might be ok if deep strike in right about the time your rhinos would reach the tanks to kind of. But they still won't beable to shoot for a turn which kind of sucks, so maybe drop them for more battle sisters in rhinos. Maybe go for immolators instead but they are a bit more pricey than rhinos by a bit and could lose out on a bit of melta critical mass.

I think it is a much better casual game, where somewhat non-conventional lists won't have a completely awful time even in pick up games. It is also very easy for newer players to pick up, in a day our even a few hours you can teach someone that is an old vet returning to the hobby or a youngish kid around like 10 and up.

I have some very minor gripes with 8th edition, mostly about how model placement is slightly less important with the lack of template weapons. And how terrain doesn't really effect the game in to many ways besides blocking Line of Sight. Or how my armies hand flamers are worse than other armies for sort of no reason, but as a whole I think it is fine.

Didn't really play to much competitive anyway since now one at my store really cared for it in 7th so don't have the most experience on that front so maybe those players are having a bit of a different time with the game than me.

It seems I made a slight error with Repentia and shall be revisiting that unit, what I failed to realize is that they aren't using Eviscerators but Penitent Eviscerators which for them are free. Making them a better option at 17 points a model rather than my believed 39 points a model. Place holder words until I have the time to relook at the unit.

I find these units kind of hard to fit into a list and expect to do super well on the table top that the much better units in the codex can't just do on their own.

Ministorum priests and jacobus both got shafted this edition in my opinion. zealot and war hymns both came out kind of terrible, to be fair they were pretty godly in 7th in many cases but with the removal of fearless it isn't worth it. Encase you don't know Zealot is reroll to hits if the model with the roll charged or was charged not any units next to them or anything just them. War hymn is slightly better but still only a shadow of its former self, giving Adeptus Ministorm and Astra Militarum infantry with in  6" 1 to their attack characteristic.

And Jacobus's banner only gives +1 to their leadership, which would usually only save an extra model here or their not enough to justify 100+ points on a sub-par HQ when Saint Celestine is basically a mandatory choice. Which he sadly can't compete for at all, even the Cannoness is more useful than both him and the normal priest in a lot of situations.

A lot of the Adeptus Ministorum units aren't really worth it either as a whole in helping out the sisters part of it anyway besides like maybe a assault based army. But that isn't my favorite kind of play style for an army.

Repentia to me just kind of seem all around bad, a squad of 3 costs you 117 points for kind of no reason. They only have the 6++ invulnerable and no longer access to feel know pain doesn't even make them that good. They have less attacks than in 7th edition, the evisorator is still OK but really kills them in points and the squad will most likely hardly ever make their points back. You can maybe put them in a rhino but now the 3 models are costing you 192 points, but hey you aren't taking a big squad what about the much better immolator even if it is slightly more. Well it is the better option for transporting them but it will cost a little bit more than 200 points, and if you start to fill up either of this transports it will end up costing you close to 300 or more points depending on what you put in. This is kind of the issue I had with these guys in 7th was just the ammount of points you sink into them to try and get them to work by throwing a squad into a land raider but it seems so point ineffective.

The rhino sadly doesn't really compare to well against either the Immolator or the Repessor, the Repressor being the better of the three but possibly going to be axed because the mold is unfixable. That is a topic for another day and for most likely more informed people. The rhino doesn't have many advantages at all besides self repair and the ability to transport 10 models. It can thankfully hold two 5 man squads in side of it but i feel that makes it a bigger target than it needs to be. The lack of firing points really hurts the rhino, the much better guns on the immolator make it way better for doing something when still trying to get into position.

Pretty much every elite in our army is kind of not worth it at all besides Imagifier for the 4+ free act of faith for a unit within 6". Nothing really is able to take that slot from me at least with my current list which uses a banner to pair with a heavy bolter squad of Retributers for the possible hundreds of shots throughout the game.

Exorcists price increase has made it a hard choice for putting in lists 1500 or less, the random damage of the missiles leaves a little to be desired and will rarely one shot Vehicles like in 7th. The point increase doesn't help to much from 125 to 160 making it barely cheaper than 2 Retributer teams with heavy bolters which can be great anti infantry weapon platforms and deal a surprising amount of wounds to vehicles that can be easily picked off by combi plasma/melta. They could have been worth it if they could still benefit from act of faith from Celestine and Imagifiars but sadly that was one of the first things faq'd, making it a weaker choice in many situations.

It would be funny to see someone use that many retributers with heavy bolters and imgafiers but I doubt anyone would actually be able to field such a thing.

 I would need a bit more imagifers to do that since sadly in 7th they didn't really do much to be worth taking. Now though they are pretty crazy in how acts of faith work.

I haven't used exorcists in 8th yet, I have played very few games so maybe later i will. Still got 3 laying around to build...

Knights are really good since one of the tournament lists are running like 4 knights.

Yeah I saw your 2k list, that is a bit mean with 4 retributer squads. But hey it will defiantly get the job done of having a ton of scary dakka.

What do you think of exorcists now? I have been finding it a bit hard to justify putting them to any lists around 1000-1500 points. Above that would most likely be a good point to add them into a list.

The two Retributer squads with Heavy bolters did most of the heavy lifting in the tournament, killing several marines , and even a few vehicles. What did the worst was my Seraphim squad with hand flamers, after the faq made them d3 instead there is really no reason to take them anymore because you kinda pay a ton of points for a worse flamer the inferno pistol is the better option.

From what I understand Celestine and her Gemni count as one unit so even if a model shooting at them has the sniper rule  to pick out characters even if they aren't the closest. You can still have the Gemni take the wound or wounds assuming no wounds are on Celestine already like normal wound allocation.

Well I ended up going 2 wins - 1 lose in the tournament. It kinda of sucked having more units than my opponents and ended up going second every game as well as being unable to seize the initiative and the game always going to turn 6.

The 6+ invuln is ok  i guess and yeah it is a pretty cool themed list besides maybe not having any sisters of battle in it but that's just me.

The list I made is a legal Patrol detachment, I did go a bit over kill on the extra acts of faith but the potential for 4 makes a turn where seraphim are out, Celestine doing assault stuff, and than you get the 24 heavy bolter shoots. Or even the battle sister squads if they are up to strength and near enough to hurt something but can get by with less for sure.

Do you know if Celestines act can be used on herself? It seems like you can't but for other characters their aura buffs affect themselves so does hers count too?

Should consider inferno pistols as a anti vehicle option or combi-meltas in my list. Just only thing with inferno pistols is that you can't really deep strike them in for some alpha because of the 6" range but i guess with act of faith they can move 24" a turn so not to huge of a deal but could still make get caught and killed with out doing to much.

What does Celestine do for this list besides kinda be tough to kill? Her buffs only really help sisters of battle...
