Ok so simple yet complex question.

With the new eldar codex coming soon..

1. What should be the new stratagems that make each craftworld unique?

E.g. if beil tan is the swordwind... how do you think the army will look?

2. What new units or changes to units do you see coming?
I bags a wraithseer as a hq unit.

3. My main question.

I think we agree eldar units are a bit expensive for what they do.  Sure we got hit the nerfbat in  8th... but now they would be getting feedback... what needs to change with eldar... points wise...

I'm thinking many of the strategems will be balanced out versions of the formation bonus' from 7th

Maybe a Wraithknight Psyker as the big model

Hopefully the not Wave Serpent tanks will get a buff rather than Serpents getting kicked in the Spirit Stones

Points wise obviously Avengers need a tweak

Ok so im going to lay some thoughts out there:

General
-------------
- A psyker bound in wraithlord or wraithknight... so obvious that could happen. They get to create a new unit without having make a new one, and thats a trend atm
- We are all hoping for some sort of new plastic release for aspects.  I heard elder had plastics a while ago but Jervis Johnson told em to hold on. Perhaps we might see a surprise this release?
- I am hoping without hope, that some sort of small points reduction
- Of course we will see more psychic powers, so that will be cool too.

Beil Tan
------------
- I think a court of the young king is on the cards. And again - no need for new models.
- Some sort of rules around synergy of aspect hosts. stratgem etc

Aluitoc
-----------
- Your looking at pathfinder armies
- perhaps strategems around more likely to wound with snipers etc

Ulthew
----------
- Black guardian squads will be all the rage
- strategems around shuriken weaponry I bet
- seer council buffs

Sam-Hann
--------------
Good question here

- my 2 cents

General wishlist:

1) Point reductions for:
Wave Serpent
Dire Avengers
Fire Prism
Falcon
Wraith Knight
Wraith blades
HQ units

Although the codex in general needs a general point reduction especially when compared to the likes of Space Marines and IG, the units listed above are the main problems

2) Striking Scorpions' Mandiblasters and Swooping Hawk Grenade pack rule changes - I feel that on a 6 to deal mortal wounds a serious oddity especially in the way it is supposed to work. Very very odd.
3) Vehicles being able to move and shoot and full BS as it is supposed to be the Eldar specialty instead of crutch
4) Lower psychic power casting/higher success chance for psychic power casting - the Eldar powers are generally quite high to cast compared to other factions. For master of psychics, they should be much better and their smite somewhat better for the Warlock, although not as strong compared to the normal smite
5) If possible, some penalty to hit them due to their speed (since pretty much every faction now has something that make it harder to shoot them now)
6) Wraith seer!!! (although this is doubtful since it's a FW thing...)
7) Phoenix lords for Warp Spiders and Shining Spears
8) More named characters (eg. Iyana and other craftworld special characters)

Craftworld specific wishlist:

Uthwe
1) Bonus to their psychic powers
2) Some way to create a seer council or make it very very viable (able to cast the same power more than once?)
3) Webway ambush (similar to what they had in Fracture of Biel-Tan)

Biel Tan
1) Deepstriking Transports to represent their strike from the skies rules
2) Aspect warrior synergy bonuses
3) Court of the Young King

Alaitoc
1) Ranger disruption table to represent their units being completely held up by the Rangers and them chasing ghosts
2) Ranger/pathfinder bonuses
3) -1 to hit if shooting from beyond 12"

Iyanden
1) Bonus to hit for all wraith units (or some other bonuses)

Saim-Hann
1) Bonus to speed and penalty to hit them

Atlansar
1) It'll be interesting to see something for this, since it has been featured a little more heavily recently

My 2 sen worth

Bonesinger stats so I can run him proper vs. playing the model as a generic farseer.

Perhaps the bonesinger will be Eldar's version of a Techpriest on the table. Haha

Well, it seems Eldar are getting closer.

I think I have 2 wishes.

1. Units points costs are reduced (I mean look at the costs to a Vauls Wrath support battery alone (compared to an Astra Militarum mortar).

2. Rule changes for HQ's to actually get some synergy. About the best we can get is reroll hit rolls of one. Pathetic when you look at Chapter masters from the Imperium.

Many many moons ago before the Gathering Storm books were out,  I found a few rumors/leaks. One was a Wraithknight psyker. Obviously we all know this didnt happen. I still hold onto that hope. I love wraith stuff. I want more.

would be great if they have windriders back as troops, with maybe the old 1/3 weapons restriction

Funny how most of the units across all the armies got a boost in the new 8th edition stat changes, but I feel like as a Saim-Hann player jetbikes and vypers were targeted and got made worse armor saves, loss of jink, etc. simply as a knee-jerk reaction because in the last codex they were so over powered and beardy.

They went from so-so in 4th-6th edition, to pumped in 7th, and now worse vs. any incarnation of the game.

I'm hoping that some love comes to the Saim-hann with some HQ choices or unit specific powers that can give us some new tactical twists.

I don' expect the model stats to change.
