Discussion: Deathwatch / Venerable Dreadnaught
« on: April 06, 2017, 09:25:01 PM »
Hey everyone,

I have been absent for a while, but I am starting to get the 40k itch again and to start it off I just picked up the Start Collecting Deathwatch box set. However, I have a question about the venerable dreadnaught. The kit comes with three different long range weapons, but only three arm section(one for the left arm/2 for the right). Now, are these weapons interchangable, or do I need to decide on what specific weapons I want to put on the two right arm.

Discussion: Tyranids / Growing fast
« on: April 18, 2016, 10:50:28 AM »
Awhile ago I posted that I was starting Tyranids. Well, yesturday, I actually went out and almost did a full fledge firesale and bought alot of Tyranid stuff. Here is what I got:

Tervigon(and built as Tervigon)

Tyranid Battleforce:
16 Termagaunts
16 Hormagaunts
8 Genestealers
3 Warriors

Start Collecting Tyranids:
3 Warriors
1 Hive Tyrant(thinking of making the flyerant)
10 Gargoyles

Im still waiting for my Codex to come in, but depending on the upgrades, this should be a fairly decent force. I am also thinking of getting Deathleaper, Lictor, Venomthroats, and Zoanthroaps.

Thoughts thus far?

40K Rules Questions / Multi-Assaults
« on: April 16, 2016, 06:43:46 PM »
Ok all, I have a question,

To really put this question into context, let me setup the senario of which the question comes about. I am playing Necrons vs Blood Angels. My Overlord was in close combat with tact squad sitting on an objective(the mission was Eternal War: Crusader) and a Drop Pod was alot holding the objective. The objective is currently contested and I have to destroy both the squad and the Drop Pod in order to claim victory. I had a squad of 6 Canoptek Wraiths that I planned to multi assault into both the drop pod and the squad to try and secure total destruction and victory.

Now comes the area that I have the Wraiths are in perfect position to execute the multi-assault. 3 would get into the drop pod and three into the tact squad. However, in order for the three to get into the tact squad, they would have had to go over one of the down flaps of the drop pod. Now the TO said that according to the rules, if I went over any part of the drop pod that i had to assault the drop pod and needed a clear path to the tact squad to assault it. However, as I understood it, to assault a drop pod, you had to charge into the hull of the drop pod, therefore, the flaps had no affect on the ability to charge another unit with the same unit.

Am I correct or am I in the wrong and could you please cite the page in the 40k Rules to give me some clarification.

Discussion: Necrons / Advice on 1850 list
« on: April 11, 2016, 08:31:27 PM »
Alright my fellow Overlords,

I have a potential tournament this Saturday and I was looking at playing Necrons. It is 1850 pts, but I am struggling on what to bring.

Naturally I am going to use the Decurion Formation:

Overlord-Warsythe, Phylactery, Res Orb, Phase Shifter (Veil of Darkness?)

10 Warriors w/Ghost Ark

10 Warriors w/ Ghost Ark

5 Immortals-Gauss Blasters

3 Tomb Blades- TL Gauss Blasters, Shieldvanes, Nebuloscope

Now that the basics are done here is my dilemma:

Do I bring: Lychguard-Warsythes(5 or 10 w/wo Night Sythe?

Annialation Barge?

More Warriors or another squd of Immortals?

Do I try Destroyers?

How about the Auxillary Formation......right now I only have enough to make either the Canoptek Harvest or the Judicator Battalion.

Thoughts and opinions and even a heathly discussion is appreciated.

Hey guys,

Im just getting started into Tyranids. Bought  boxs of termagaunts, hormagaunts, and genestealers. I am debating on getting the Codex(because of the rumors of a new codex), but other than more gaunts, what should I look at purchasing next?

40K Rules Questions / Heavy tank rule
« on: March 05, 2016, 05:30:24 AM »
I dont know if this has been answered before, but a friend of mine told me that since the Leman Russ tanks are heavy tanks, they would be able to move and shoot thier main cannon and the sponsons at full BS. Is this true? I think he was looking at one of the Imperial Armor books when we looked it up.

Discussion: Astra Militarum / Sentinel build
« on: March 02, 2016, 06:33:43 AM »
Ok guys,

I have a Sentinel kit and I am curious how you guys build them or what would be a good choice. I already have one and built it with the autocannon and not sure if having a second with the same build or going with a different loadout.

Discussion: 40K Homebrew Rules & Campaigns / Custom ruleset
« on: February 28, 2016, 08:35:55 AM »
I have been experimenting with various custom rules and I found one with the Sabatoge mysterious objective. you would still roll a d6, but the results would be as follows:

1-S4 AP-
2-S4 AP5
3-S5 AP4
4-S6 AP3
5-S7 AP2
6-Nothing happens

You would roll a d6 for number of woulds that would be rolled and all models within 3" of the objective would suffer the wounds first and then any extra wounds would spill over to the rest of the squad.

Im planning on experimenting with some other things and will post them soon.

What do you guys think thus far?

Discussion: Painting / General painting question
« on: August 28, 2015, 11:24:07 AM »
Alright guys and gals,

I have recently primed some Imperial Guard soldiers and I wanted to know if it is really necessary to have the whole model primed or is it going to kill anything if there is a tiny bit of the grey plastic that is showing, especially from the underside. I'm just curious as I am have to go back and do some touch up priming on my Imperial Fist models while also getting a crap ton of them primed also.

Any advice is helpful.

40K Rules Questions / Space Marine Codex rules question
« on: April 19, 2015, 12:22:11 AM »
Do vehicles with bolter weapons benefit from the Imperial Fist's Bolter Drill?  I say no because the rule doesn't specifically specify vehicles like it does for the Iron Hand's Chapter, yet a buddy of mine and my opponent said that they do.

Discussion: Painting / Question on painting Necrons

Of what I have assembled thus far, I spray primed in Gun Metal primer. Now, my question is, should I use nune oil on them or not and just go into the detailing?

Discussion: 40K Rumors / next codex updates
« on: April 07, 2015, 09:58:01 AM »
Well, it seems that GW is starting to go back and updated the codexs from 6th ed to 7th. The recent rumors that I heard recently is that Eldar and Space Marines are slated for update sometime this summer.

I see them following the pattern of doing away with the force org and replacing with formatikns like we have see with the last few updates.
