In an attempt to sort things out for 8th edition, or New Hammer if you like better, I'm launching a new thread.
No doubt it will be as epic as my last one! (some one's got's me!)
And to that end I am looking at models I like and FOC's to fit them into and the points costs.

The first miniatures I've selected to mess with are. Storm Boys, Zagstrukk and a WAAAAGH Banner Nob. What work has to be done? The WAAAGH-Nob needs a kustom Shoota to replace his slugga and some paint. Zagstruk and the Storm boys all need more paint.
(I'm not usually one for Special Characters but I'll give him a try for a few games. Or not? Either way he's getting painted.)
My first list will be a Patrol Detachment. Just to see what the points look like.
The next post will have units listed and points totals as well as Power Levels listed for future comparison.
I have so many armies coming to mind but I need to pick something that will have staying power and mobility.

Fell free to join in if you like.

General Discussion / Braking 8th edition?
« on: May 22, 2017, 10:16:23 AM »
I just read that a friend of mine has been conspiring to brake 8th edition... isn't it too early, it's not even out yet.
I can understand looking for ways to build strong list but isn't it just guesswork right now?

How would you brake 8th edition?

General Discussion / Inquiza-munda question for Fritz.
« on: October 26, 2016, 06:38:51 AM »
Sorry if that's not how Inquizamunda is spelled, wasn't sure.
My question is, how does it work? What rules are you using?
I'm just wondering because you mention it here and there in your videos and it sounds interesting. I've heard of people playing Inquisitor in 28MM which also sounded fun.

Discussion: THE LIST / 1750 list for club tournament.
« on: September 22, 2016, 06:16:25 AM »
I though I'd put this here for a little more exposure. Da Orks discussion is not the fastest.
We're playing Maelstrom of War. 1750 points 2 hour time on the games 3 rounds.

After some list building I think I may stick with the Green tide.
Here's what I've done so far.
 1750 points, 160 models.

CAD (49 models)
Pain boy with boss pole (1)
LvL 2 weirdboy/warphead (1)

Grot mob (14+1)
Grot mob (14+1)
Grot mob (14+1)

Dakka Jet 3 supper shootas (1)
deff Kopta (1)
deff Kopta (1)

Deff Dread 4 DCCW (1)
Lootas (5)
Lootas (5)

Da Green tide (111 models)
1 mob of 11
9 mons of 10 + 1 Power Klaw nob (99)
Warboss with finkin Kap, Evy' armour, Big choppa (1)

The plan is to roll a 1 on the Orks warlord traits chart and a 3 on strategic Allowing me to infiltrate the tide up the board to hold lots of ground and objectives. Hoping to also infiltrate two mobs of grot onto objectives. They will be dropped into pockets, surrounded by the tide and just go to ground all game. the deff koptas can either sit back and rush objectives or out flank for  far objectives. the Dakka jet will do the shooting flying around. the lootas will camp my deployment zone and shoot. the Deff dread is an odd choic but he needs to assault any vehicles he can so Nobs don't have to with 7 attacks he can score loads of penetrating hits winning me a massive combat with the two to one 7 pens = 14 wounds. loosing doesn't really matter the tide won't run away ever. The warphead is just there to use his force weapon or deny the witch. Don't want to become enfeebled.
That's the plan.
Two hour rounds, minimal moving of the tide beyond what I have to and one big assault t the end if need be.Mostly just planning to deny the table to the enemy.  Grots are Objective Secured too. they should win me the game.

General Discussion / How would you field a looted Knight?
« on: September 11, 2016, 05:54:06 AM »
Hi again.
I'm in a few Ork face book groups and in one of them some one dropped a data sheet that they made for a looted knight.
It stares at 400 points with a few Ork weapons options and upgrades.
It has the battle cannon and a few Ork ranged weapons and is BS2. the strongest point is that the shield seems to just be a blanket 4++ unlike the usual ++ a knight has. It also has a chance for some of the weapons to run out of ammo.
I think they took the weapons options from the Mega and Mekka dreads and just stuck them in as the Knight upgrades.

I have been thinking it would be cool to add a knight to my collection but I haven't been sure how to do it. I know they can be taken by most armies as allies.
But I've never been sure what I needed to field one. I don't really want to buy more than one.

So what's the easiest way to add a knight?  Does the Kit come with its rules? I know a lot of kits come with their rules now days.
What would you think about facing a looted knight if you were across the table?
Would it be that big of a deal?

Thanks for reading.

General Discussion / Having trouble with 40K again.
« on: July 29, 2016, 11:21:45 AM »
It hit me the other day or maybe a week ago, with the Orks faq and then again with the Chaos faq. I think I'm tired of 40K.
I don't really know what to do about it. I love my Orks but I feel mistreated by my codex and 7th edition. I have other armies but I don't enjoy playing them much at all any more. I feel like the landscape has changed and what I want to do doesn't fit what is. I'm playing some 30K now Orks invading 30K has been enjoyable. I'm starting First Legion. I'm even starting AoS now. Savage Orruks are really cool.
I'm still left to decide what to do about my 40K stuff. I think I'll sell most all of it. Only keeping my Orks and even downsizing that to a more manageable size 23000+ points has become ridicules. I find myself looking forward to 8th edition 40K. it can't get here soon enough. (Yes some Orks really do want to watch the world burn.)  Mostly due to a mix of my discuses and it almost looks like AoS is a balanced game as far as game play and rules go. But I could be wrong.
There's a certain attraction to a new rule set which removes the old and replaces it with the new. I can't be the only one whose played for 6 editions and has a mess of, but I know this is the rule" stuck in their heads. Even though I'm remembering something very out of date.
I canceled my last game. My friends tau seemed like too much of a bother to ... bother dragging out my orks for.
It just occurs to me it's almost August. I wonder if this is my yearly depression beginning early.
Oh well.
I just needed to vent, I guess.

Discussion: Chaos Space Marines / Might be starting KDK.
« on: March 29, 2016, 03:47:46 PM »
It's early days yet but a friend of mine has 10,000 points of khorne for sale and I'm tempted to start a World Eaters army. I don't know yet what he's got, but for so many points I know it's loads and loads.
I'm not sure I want an army painted and assembled by anyone other than me. He's said he'll send me pictures this week. I'm tempted to see if he'll just sell me maybe 2000 points. Despite being a dedicated and otherwise hardcore Ork player, going on 17 or more years now, we have an up and coming warboss that I want to fight as often as I can. So it's more of a new project so for the sake of a new project and games against the Orks. Just for fun.

The thing is, I don't really know what I "need" for a KDK army. Beyond troops and an HQ.

Discussion: Dark Angels / Starting Dark angels again.
« on: June 30, 2015, 07:00:28 PM »
I haven't played Dark Angels in a long time. I think the last time was early to mid 5th edition. I think I have had a Dark angels army in every edition except 6th. I did have the army but never used it, then sold it. Which is a bit of an inconvenience. As I am starting over from scratch this edition Well not exactly but more or less.
With luck my codex will arrive some time this week. I am very excited. Which feels amazing. I haven't wanted anything to do with power armour in a very long time.
I'll post some stuff here when I get it all going again!
First goal is 750 points painted.
