Discussion: Orks / Re: Ork Dream Unit

The Stompa is a seriously awesome model, if we are talking dream model then that's my choice. I recently bought one and in the process of assembling it now. I read a post on a different forum about a guy who jokingly mentioned he wanted to add small speakers inside his. Well ... I have become obsessed with the idea and want to blast 80's music out of my Stompa. If I had room I would cram a smoke machine in there too. I don't care that's it's half my points in an 1850 game, I want to unleash my beats by Stompa on the world!!!

General Discussion / Re: Best Vehicle In 40K?

Ork trukk for sure. Av10 open topped transport, what's not to love? More than likely going to get blown off the table first turn and take half your ork boyz along with it. Unless you spend the points to upgrade their armor, in which case they don't seems poins effective anymore....ohhh you said best vehicle....sigh....wave serpent

You own a ton of trukks lol. I like the list a lot.

Do models painted with the standard citadel paints need to have a clear coat applied to protect them? If so any suggestions on brands of sealers would be much appreciated. I'm spending so much time painting my first army, I would be pretty bummed if it rubbed off or started getting chipped.

Boss: gazbag da 'urty, leader of da deff 'eads. Gear: mega armor, boss pole and da lucky stik. War bikes, deffkoptas, battle wagons, trukks and as many boyz as he can stuff in them. Deff 'eads can field just over 2500 points worth of krumpin.

Thanks for the input, it does sound like tank bustas is the missing piece. How do you guys run your tank bustas? I was thinking 2 minimal squads of 5 each in trukks, with maybe a bomb squig or 2. Not sure if one unit of 10 is better or 2 units of five?

My deffkoptas are gonna have tw rokkits and I have a spare trukk not being used. Maybe a cheap unit of 5 tank bustas?

I'm building my army slowly and was wondering what else you guys thought i should add. I have 3 battle wagons filled with slugga boyz and nob bp/pk. A trukk with mega armor war boss, 3 mans and a pain boy. 10 war bikes with nob pb/pk. 4 deffkoptas. With out worrying about points what would fit in with my army? I'm basically going flat out and trying to get into combat ASAP. I have yet to play my first game but I've been building/painting for over a year now. I was think about storm boyz or more trukks, but was unsure what to put in the trukks. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the input guys. I'm personally leaning on trying a full unit of 5 with rokkits. Using them to escort a kff big mek on bike also sounds interesting.

I'm starting to think the deffkopta might be one of our best point for point units. 30 points for a t5 2 wound 4+ twinlinked rokkit platform! Some nice special rules and they can even take a powerklaw (basically). What size squads are you guys running them in? Lots of batreps I've seen have guys using them solo as a kind of throw away unit. Seems such a waste as this unit can do so many things. I recently got 5 Aobr koptas and wanted your guys thoughts.

That looks awesome! What did you use for the bike itself? That's not a standard warbike is it?

I'm wanting to convert a kff mek on a bike to ride behind a couple battlewagons. Has anybody seen any good pics or have any ideas on how they would make one? I'm looking for inspiration and turning to fellow Waaaaaaggghhhaholics for advice. Has anybody else been thinking this is a good idea or am I crazy?

I don't have the new codex yet so I could be mistaken, but don't you need a war boss to call a waaagh? If so I feel like he is an auto include based on that and his relatively low points cost. Other than that I like the list a lot. I saw a bat rep with trukk spam and the new mob rule coupled with losing ramshackle caused some brutal losses to his boyz. Let us know how this list fairs.

I would get 4 battle wagons with deff rollas and a ton of slugga boys to fill them. Forge world nob bikers are awesome too.

Valid point if im running a fun list. I guess i was just a little sad reading the rumors about no force org chart anymore. I think ork boyz are really solid when compared to other troops in different codex. It was one thing orks had going for them that every one needs troops and ours were awesome. I guess im just venting my frustration as someone who was starting  to know the game and it now appears its about to change drastically. I suppose crying wont change anything and its not like im playing orks to win tournaments. I play them cause i love the humor and randomness, not to mention dumping a bucket of 60 dice during my shooting phase is amazing lol.
