Thodin's Khorne Daemon Prince 6/21
« on: June 20, 2014, 11:13:41 PM »
Here is my entry, it will be a ambitious scratch built Khorne Daemon Prince kit-bash with a ton of one-off conversions and a lot of sculpting. I will do my very best to meet the deadline. As you can see from the pic's I straighten and repositioned the arms. Also extended them a little bit. They are glued and pinned into position with paper clips. I sawed of the legs for phase 2 which I will be posting shortly.

I wish the best of luck to all the entries.

Ok here's phase 2. I used a brass rod to pin the body to a Juggernaut's body. Phase 3 will be sculpting much more muscle mass on DP. I'm talking mountains  of muscle that you would expect on a DP of Khorne! More surprises planed for phase 4!

Here is phase 3 part 1: The rough sculpt is almost finished. I still need to add spikes to the other forearm, (spikes originally fit onto the back), cut off right hand and extend it just a bit to lengthen the arm, finish the 2nd half of is back.

Ok here is the update on my over the top Khorne DP so far. I must be crazy but i love this part of the build the most!!! I'm pushing hard to get her done over the next few days.
I sawed the right hand and extended it a bit, added the other set of horns/spikes to the rt forearm and sculpted more fur. Finished the shoulders, back, bie's and tri's. Added a bunch of goodies to the juggie's body including a tail. Pinned the head and sculpted the neck and traps. The head is from a GW fantasy model. Time to put on a fresh pot of coffee. 3 more hrs and the sun will be up!  8)

I have come to the realization that I am out of time to complete my entry to the level standard that I feel happy with. No excuses, just bit off more than I can chew at the moment :-\ .... So I'm humbly bowing out and taking myself out of the painting contest.

I want to thank all the organizers who put this awesome event together and everyone who entered the painting contest. Also HUGE THANK YOU goes out to everyone in The War Master community for being a great group of folks who all share a common thread.

This contest has pushed me to reignite my passion for this hobby and to create one of my beast conversions to date! So Thank you again for this opportunity and lighting a fire under my a$$!! LOL  ;D

I still have a ton of ideas that I want to do on this model that are bouncing around my head, which are trying to claw their way out. One of them is adding mini led lights inside his head and body to give him a daemonic glow....I'll keep you all posted on my progress....

I wish you all the best of luck!
Thodin  :D
