According to BoLS we're getting 2 new monstrous tyranids. Anyone else know anything about this?

According to the rumors on Faeit 212, it will be a single box that can make one one of 2 models, the Texocrine or Maleceptor it will be $73msrp.

Heres the rumored stats

Toxicrene
Heavy Support, slight over 150pts
Acid blood, Lash whips, fearless, Instinctive behavior feed
On a large oval base with 10 long tentacles and a face like a lictor.
A 5 wound t6 monstrous creature who is hypertoxic and shrouded. this means any hit gains instant death on a wound roll of a 6 due to a toxic cloud. This includes its close combat attacks and its choking cloud

Choking Cloud; 12" assault1 ignores cover, lg blast. Chocking cloud is S3, poisoned 2+ and against open topped vehicles or any vehicle that has lost a hull point the attack gains armour bane.

Maleceptor
Elite Choice: Monstrous Creature, slightly over 200pts
A 4 legged beast with two large scything talons
A psyker level 2, synapse monstrous creature that has an invul save of 5+. It has shadows of the warp and a 4+ save.

Psychic Overload: Warp Charge 2
It has the psychic power psychic overload, which is a 24" focused witchfire. target must take a leadership test on 3d6 and vehicles count as leadership 10, failure causes d3 wounds no armor or cover saves allowed, and a causes a single glancing hit to vehicles, no cover save allowed. The maleceptor can do psychic overload three times a round, but cannot target the same model twice.

someone posted the dataslates in a thread already they're just a bit hard to read but you get everything about them

Deep striking transport spores...OMG, but really no assault vehicle....but omg can have 5 venom cannons or barbed stranglers.... and no instinctive behavior, so it is like a really heavy moving drop pod tank.

It's all I've ever wanted for this codex. AND IT CARRIES ANY MC (Tervigon, Tyrannofex, Carnifex, Exocrine)!!!!

This is pretty awesome. Could be what the Tyranids needed to break through into the competitive enviroment.

I like that it allows DS and can carry MC's but how would you use it, load up a CC fex inside and plop it somewhere, disembark behind it so the transport soaks up the turn of shooting and charge in the CC fex next turn?

The most "competitive" option is certainly dropping in Dakkafexes. Now you can just put them where you need them.

However, it gives Warriors and Primes a new lease on life. It gives Devilgaunts a new run as well. Everything in our codex can now Deep Strike or move at least 12". This is REALLY GOOD.

We actually don't know how good it is because we've never been able to Deep Strike all of things we can deep strike now. Toxicrene? Dimachaeron? All seems good to me.

I'm buying 3, and I'll probably run 2 very often.

And we don't even know what the other models do, yet.

As a guy who has 10 converted spore pods...

how about spamming rippers/gaunts in these new pods?

3 Rippers
1 Spore Pod w/5 venom cannons

5 of these statistically wreck a IK in one turn (barring any scatters, there's no way to model for that)

5 Barbed Strangler versions would certainly do a number on infantry and light transports alike.  I think I've found my counter to DE/Eldar... if I wanted to play a floating blob list.

I'm glad to see these come back and be tougher than T4.

More new stuff, the Sporocyst and Mucolid Spore Cluster which can charge zooming flyers and swooping monstrous creatures and if it successfully charges they explode with a s8 ap3 automatic hit.

yeah my FLGS was saying the new boxed set is going to be Nids + BA or something
