Craftworld Eldar release - Spanish codex pics links added
« on: March 29, 2015, 10:56:28 PM »
Wow!

http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2015/03/40k-wfb-gw-schedule-q2-3.html

Looking at this, if true, and in order of release, could we be looking at a craftworld Eldar release in the next month or 2? Maybe April?

But the Gossip says it is more likely to be a release of some plastic kits, bikes and I think they mean Autarch?

But either way - new eldar bikes... hands up!

If this is true I think we're also supposed to see 2 sets of new aspect warriors and 2 phoenix lords.

Could that mean new jetbikes ?

This piques my interest as I am awaiting one more box to complete my Shining spears unit. I have only modeled an exarch and two regular SS, with another 3 prepared for the bikes.
It'd be strange to have them look different.

With the direction khorne demonkin went with no actual new rules for the unit entries themselves, we could be seeing a book that focuses on a craftworld giving a overarching special rule and a decurion stlye detachment with a bunch of formations. I would be fine with that the formations could fill the gap that makes certain units terrible.

Imagine a beil-tan book that features a cc formation of 1-2 banshees and 1-2 scorpiens and it gives +1 weapon skill and some other bonus. The core formation of the detachment could be  1 autarch 2-6 Dire avengers 0-2 guardiens 1-2 shining spears(i could see them doing it to sell the kits and then give us a shining spear/windrider kit). They could make a dark reaper formation 2-4 units of dark reapers and give them something crazy like ignore cover.

This would launch some of the more obsceure units in the book into decent status, i just cant wait for formations for the eldar cause i like the new style like the decurion and the khorne slaughter cult.

A Decurion style for Eldar..

Get ready to buy some stuff you probably never thought you would need, it was Tomb Blades for Necrons and Possessed for Khorne Daemonkin. Not necessarily a bad thing though since the rules are really very decent. That aside.. Eldar formations? Yes please.. Fluff for the fluff god!

Yes but I wonder what EVIL formation tax/ detachment might make you forced to take Howling Banshees... if they dont change rules much...

The thing about the tax, it works for necrons because almost everything in their army is playable. If banshees got a point of weapon skill, a point of strength, and an extra attack, and stayed the same cost they would only be very slightly better than death cult assassins. And no formation will give all of that.

Maybe a Jain-Zarr led formation that gives the unit Furious Charge (although she may do that already). What they really need is something that allows them "swift sortie" basically something that allows them to assault out of a stationary Wave Serpent. Anything that allows them to assault out of a Wave Serpent would make them instantly useable as far as I'm concerned.

Well, the rumours are certainly building... someting is in the works. Some of the good thigns ive read at to the guessswork. Being jetbikes, I liked the one about an Eldar suppliment of Saim Hann based around Autarch on jetboke with other jetbikes etc..

Who knows.

With no lead up for this, im questioning how big the release really is. But a suppliment with the release of new jetbikes would make a lot of sense.

April it sounds like the release date.

Iam super excited for any Eldar release! that being said my next buy actually will be 10 banshees. Lets be realistic here these girls have not really been used since 4th - 5th, I would say a rule change for them is for sure coming soon if not now then when 8th ed comes.  I just plan on picking them up to avoid the price increase that comes with these rule changes. Plus I would imagine or hope there is at least 1 formation that makes them usable, if not gw missed out!

I'm looking forward to what GW does to our Codex, I'm a big fan of a lot of the new releases, in regards to the balancing codexes, no super units but all very good/usable so I hope they continue along those lines.

I'm not sure it will be a full codex, but I can see a supplement or campaign book.
