next codex updates
« on: April 07, 2015, 06:58:01 AM »
Well, it seems that GW is starting to go back and updated the codexs from 6th ed to 7th. The recent rumors that I heard recently is that Eldar and Space Marines are slated for update sometime this summer.

I see them following the pattern of doing away with the force org and replacing with formatikns like we have see with the last few updates.

Thoughts?

hopefully I don loose my black templar army with the next space marine codex. I'm betting we'll get chapter formations over chapter tactics with the current trend in marine books.

I'm doubly concerned for my white scars, using bikes for troops and chapter tactics could be lost.
Everything I have ever told you, even this, is a lie.

I really doubt that they will do anything to chapter tactics. However, I can see themm doing alot of chapter specific formations, but that opens the door up for several suppliments for more formations for specific chapters.

I'm mainly concerned because I'm buying I'm third land raider crusader for my army. Have to wait and see. I'm also hoping we get more viable units so I stop seeing gravstar as the only marine list.

I'd love to see some good formations, but I don't want them to be chapter specific. I'm an Ultramarine player, and run a mech list. I don't want to have to use Iron Hands formations. I know it doesn't really matter, the rules never state that your paint scheme matters, but for fluff reasons.
Ultramarines - 4000 pts
W-7 / T-1 / L-3
Imerial Guard - 2000 pts
W-0 / T-0 / L-0

The current codex states paint scheme matters for successors.

That could be annoying, I don't play Vanilla Space Marines Grey knights, and nids....
Based on recent releases, It seems they are going to be releasing larger books covering a bigger spectrum of things, ie craftworlds

I'm hoping for Genestealer cult dex, just a rumor I hear, I don't remember where, I think a you tube vid, would be lovely though!!

Greetings & Salutations

I trust all is well.

As a new Black Templars it will be interesting to see what GW comes up with.

I'm thinking of an mechanized up close type of force.

word is Black Templars are being removed from the next generic marine book. This means one of two things we are moving to sister of battle status or we're getting our own codex again. I'm hoping for new codex myself. I'm also hoping Imperial Fists get some love in the next marine book.

Be nice to have some vets with hatred xenos or hatred psyker. Just sayin'.
Don't try making a unit unkillable. its a waste of time and the dice gods laugh at you for wasting your time. Dedicate a unit to a job and make sure it does it til it's either dead or running.

Honestly all Space Marines should get "Hatred non-Imperium" I doubt it will happen, but it would be awesome!
