So the GW social media team has pretty much confirmed Magnus the Red's daemon primarch model for warzone fenris part 2. This leads me to think what sort of op rules he might have.

Any wishlishts for daemon primarchs in general, what route should GW do down?

Discussion: Chaos Space Marines / The almost pointless formation

So with traitors hate out there have been a few new formations with varying uses and abilities. But after looking over the Lost and the Damned formation a second time I came to realise that as far as usefulness is concerned it is pretty much the worst.

Lets take a look at what it actually does.

All units within 6 inches of the dark apostle from the formation have zealot: Pretty decent

All units of cultists in the formation come back on a roll of a 4+ into ongoing reserves: Seems fluffy and good at first glance

All units of cultists in the formation gain the outflank rule: Also seems great!


Until you realise that it doesn't work. The reason it doesn't work is that according to page 168 in the small rule book you can't outflank from ongoing reserves which initially makes you think "well I can just outflank at T2 right then with normal reserves": Wrong cos the formation only gives you the rule when the unit dies.

Until this gets cleared up by GW it will remain useless in my eyes (or at least the 4+ rule will) as it means the cultists end up going nowhere if they die (and they will)  especially if they're zombies and can't run.

I thinking about fielding  a list  like this in an upcoming game and I wondered how I could improve it (its a massive experiment).

40K Rules Questions / Crimson Slaughter Possessed and Transports

On page 50 in the CS supplement book under the 'Slaves to the Voices' table (which is rolled on at the beginning of the controlling player's turn) a D3 is rolled to determine which ability is given to the possessed:

1. Spirit Beacons- The unit and the vehicle they are embarked on gain the shrouded special rule

2. Beast Form- The units type changes from infantry to beasts

3. Incorporeal bodies- The unit's invulnerable save is increased to a 3+ and they gain the rending special rule

In  the SRB it states that a transport can only hold 1 infantry unit. So what happens to the possessed if they turn into beasts? Do they auto disembark and if so, how many inches?

Any ideas?

I've been thinking about picking up a BoC boxset recently and with it Lorgar to fit into a 1500 point list. Any tips on list building in 30k for a newcomer? Any advice would be much appreciated!  ; :D
