Discussion: Terrain / Scratchbuilt Tyranid Capillary Towers.
« on: November 07, 2013, 04:41:19 PM »
With my mojo back on track the next thing on my tyranid terrain list is some Capillary Towers. Having made my Bastion, a stretch from my straightforward defence line I'm now going to refine those skills with some Capillary Towers. Having already utilised them in the 'compass points' of the Bastion I thought I'd just get six done as I'd speculated they were easy to make from the foamboard templates I'd already made.

So first up was cutting a bunch of chitin plates from the bottom of pop bottles:

Then some foamboard spines to fit them to:

Then attach the spines to plywood discs and add the chitin plates using pins

More progress soon, but here's more info and pics:

My mates, Ben, Liam, Otty and I had a 12 hour Apocalypse battle. The report is being written on the blog, but given the scale of what I was trying to do was sketchy at best. However, it's more about the spectacle with this, so if you like your hobby porn and enjoy nothing more than 4 totally bada$$ completely painted armies featuring many scratchbuilt and unique items then enjoy. Oh, there was a scratchbuilt Warlord Titan too,

Prelude to war is here:

First turn will be on the blog tomorrow.

General Discussion / FREE Gaming markers to print out.
« on: September 12, 2013, 08:04:18 AM »
Throughout my gaming forays I've felt the need to create a variety of markers to help keep track of what's going on. I did think about buying those tiny dice for wound markers etc. playing nids I need a lot but instead had the skills to design my own markers then print, stick to mounting card, 'laminate' with sellotape and then cut out for as many markers as I need and if I lose them I can just make another batch. Anyway here's a selection of what I've made [more on the blog] feel free to print them out and share the link. Alternatively you can still pay for tiny dice or do tally charts if you like, each to their own .

Get them all here

And Biomancy markers

There's plenty more that you may find useful and all my other free .pdf building templates and free markers and battle reports on my blog:
