Super Competitive Daemons list
« on: November 27, 2014, 05:16:43 PM »
I have been challenged by the guys at my club to take daemons to our next comp. They play very competitive lists the usual tau elder etc. They are so confident of crushing daemons they said even with the help of this forum the list cannot even survive till the end of the game. Any help?advise? i will put up the bat rep videos after so we can all enjoy ;). I would love to use bel'akor but not essential.

All help welcome,

This list is supposably very strong, going for summoning and psychic shriek on the nurgle Princes.
Shriek in combination with fateweaver rerolling one die, vCan potentially kill a wraithknight in one turn. Summoning 30 daemonettes isnt something too laugh at either.
Its not mine, but you asked for competative..

Fateweaver
GUO, Exalted gift, lvl 3

17 pink horrors
13 pink horrors

3 x nurgle prince, wings, armour, lvl 3, 2 greater gifts

I disagree with the direction AK-47 is going in. You're going to face Tau, and you want to field flyers? Tau are pretty good at dealing with that sort of thing. Tau also tend to specialize in low quantity high quality shooting, and you're talking about an elite list. You're going to face Eldar who may bring strength D, and you're talking about high toughenss units?

I recommend using hordes and psychic powers. A 2+ rerollable save screamerstar assaulting multiple squads will ignore overwatch ad incoming wounds, and chase half a Tau army off the board in one turn. Have cheap units big enough to bubble wrap the key ingredients in case you go second to a drop pod heavy list.

I agree with a hordish list. Might even be worth going with the nurgle formation to smoke screen over watch. Deepstrike in using icons for D6" scatter then run to cover for shrouded. Next turn deny overwatch in the charge, possibly bring down something with plague swords. Follow that charge up with slannesh units which move fast with their formations and have a high initiative score so they better chances of sweeping the tau units.

Slannesh isn't so good v eldar as they have prefered enemy on you but the speed might help. Nurgle would be a better bet but you'd have a hard time vs eldar.

Gladuis detachment will be a problem for infantry but screamers should help with that.

Best of luck
